Dee, you're a joke...I think you would rather the Islanders leave the area than having them move to Brooklyn...How dare you....asking the question what's going to happen to the booster club when the team moves to the Barclay Center...who cares...there be other people like myself (from NJ) who will buy season tickets when they're in Brooklyn...shame on you...

Does anyone on here belong to the booster club? Just curious. Also, is a booster club relevant to a professional sports team in this day and age?

in my experience.. booster clubs are all the kids that were insecure and made fun of in high school who ban together now and act like the kids that use to make fun of them...i can only speak to the BST booster club. while i know many nice people in the club..collectively they are a group of grumpy people. i can sum it up best..as i was doing shots with Drew Fata and Kip Brennan one night Drew said "don't you ever join the booster club or i'll kick your ass...just be a fan not a weirdo"

Finally! An article on the Booster Club! We've been clammoring for this one all year and finally Dee has delivered the goods! THIS, is what makes coming to these blogs worth it! The moment the Isles announced their move to Brooklyn I thought, 'but what about the Booster Club?'. Screw the upcoming draft and free agency. The hell with offseason regimens!

What we want is more news on anything BUT the on ice product!

Thank you Dee! While the Islanders may be working to repair their image with a better team, your blogs should at least help to keep us a joke in the cyber world!

Kudos!

the booster club is extremely important to the isles and quite frankly we should be interviewing and dare i say bowing down to those that show up (and pay) to go to islander conventions

I think it spoke volumes when on the front page there was Mr. French's blog about draft options for the Isles. Well thought out, well written. It seemed like the first decent blog we've had since the last non-Dee blog. Suddenly it's followed up (as if on cue) by Dee's ramblings about the booster club and more boo-hoo crap about the move etc.

I'm pretty patient as well as supportive of folks expressing their point of view, but for her to have a soapbox such as this? It's beyond pathetic that a site for avid hockey fans has to deal with such a novice for our blogger, and while I appreciate her dedication to provide articles for the team, the contents make it more insulting than informative to us. I can't help but think if she was a Flyers blogger, Ek would have done something about this a while back.

I remember years ago after Tonya Harding's skating career ended, she took up singing and tried to play live at some festival. The video showed people throwing stuff at her because she sucked so bad. Instead of taking the hint and gathering up her pride to leave, she picked up one of the thrown objects and continued to sing while waving it tauntingly to the crowd. She knew she sucked, but figured she'd torture the crowd with more. Sort of reminds me of Dee with her blogs...

Urgh. You're reminding me of the "real fan blog" she did. I always thought her blogs were terrible but kept my opinion to myself(if you can believe that?) and didn't bash her(at least on here)like some did at the time but then she wrote that blog calling some fans out and saying they weren't "real fans" for not going to games. At the time I was part of that demographic between work and quite frankly not wanting to waste my time or money on the crap team that was assembled.
If people wanted to pay for that then fine but I didn't feel the need. Now I still never missed a game(I missed game 6 of the playoffs this year bcs I was in DR that was prob the first game I've missed in over 20 years)just didn't feel the need to go to games. Now to have someone like Dee call someone like me "not a real fan" pissed me off just a bit. In that same blog she also called out these same "phoney fans" and blamed them for the Islanders lack of success. Wasn't the GM's fault, wasn't the owners fault, it was the fans fault. I was a little shocked to hear this. Little did I know that all this time the Islanders sucked because of me and I had Dee to point that out to me. Thanks Dee!
After I read that piece of shat I was done with Dee and her blogs and I have no problem giving her my opinion.
